"Rise Above"

Rowsell Sails is a little more than just a sailmaker; we’re hands on, largely self taught and fully capable of producing winning racing sails, or lasting cruising sails, made by hand, sometimes with computer aid, but we personally posses the skill, to design from scratch and manufacture, utilizing over 30 years of sail making knowledge to lean on.

The Rowsell family has a deep-rooted connection to the sea, dating back generations. This history is woven into the very fabric of this land, where our ancestors once fished for a living.

Over time, our family members have served as lifeboatmen, boat builders, designers, pilots, sailmakers, and even dinghy racing champions. We have a long tradition of ocean sailing, and more recently, have embraced kitesurfing and foiling.

The sail loft itself was established here in the mid-1980s. Frank joined the family business in 1993 and took over the helm in 2000.

In this period, the racing sails have one many World, national, and regional championships, the cruising sails have sailed vast oceans, and out lasted any competitor.

Our company slogan today is ‘Rise Above,’ reflecting this proud maritime heritage.
